What is the difference between flameless and direct-fired nitrogen pumping?
Flameless nitrogen units use a hydraulic water brake heat exchanger to vaporize liquid nitrogen without combustion, making them suitable for enclosed facilities, compressor stations, and areas where open flame is restricted. Direct-fired units use a direct-fired vaporizer (CryoQuip / HydraRig) and deliver higher flow rates (up to 420 m³/min at 105,000 kPag / 15,000 psig), suited for large-volume pipeline and wellbore applications.
